Asian ADRs Trade Higher

American depositary receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.17% higher at 167.78 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Thursday. In North Asia, the gainers were led by hotel group China Lodging (HTHT), and IT company ChinaCache (CCIH), which rose 7.2% and 6.2% respectively. Oil company Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical (SHI), and marketing and branding company Acorn (ATV) were up 4.7% and 4.2%.

The decliners in North Asia were led by media company Phoenix New Media (FENG), and online discount retailer Vipshop (VIPS), which lost 5.1% and 4.2% respectively. They were followed by Baozun (BZUN), a brand e-commerce solutions company, and educational services provider Hailiang Education (HLG), which fell 4.1% and 3.9%. In South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firm Infosys (INFY), and natural resources company Vedanta (VEDL), which rose 2.8% and 1.2% respectively. They were followed by WNS Holdings (WNS), a provider of business process management services, and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (RDY), which were up 0.2% each.
