Asian ADRs Rise in Thursday Trade

American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.24% higher at 152.70 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Thursday. In North Asia, the gainers were led by online game developer Gravity (GRVY), and fabless semiconductor company Himax Technologies (HIMX), which surged 10.5% and 8.5% respectively. They were followed by technology company NetEase (NTES), up 7.2%, and casino and resort operator Melco Crown Entertainment (MPEL), up 2.5%.

The decliners in North Asia were led by solar park operator Sky Solar Holdings (SKYS), and power producer Huaneng Power International (HNP), which shed 3.9% and 2.2% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm Beigene (BGNE), down 2.1%, and KB Financial Group (KB), a financial holding company in Korea, off 2%.

In South Asia, the gainers were led by natural resources firm Vedanta (VEDL), and automobile manufacturer Tata Motors (TTM), which rose 5.9% and 2.7% respectively. IT services firm Infosys (INFY) added 2%, and Philippines telecommunications provider PLDT (PHI), rose 0.80%.
